Welcome to my website! I am Research Fellow in the Department of Economics at University of São Paulo. My research and teaching interests are Environmental and Resource Economics and Applied Econometrics. One of my research strands lies in the intersection between market capitalizations of environmental (dis)amenities and mechanisms to curb environmental pollution. The other one focuses on the economics of extractive industries, particularly on the effects that resource booms have on local welfare.

I hold a Ph.D. from Michigan State University, and a M.Sc. from Universidad Católica del Norte, Chile. Please look here for my CV. You can reach me at nmrivera[at]usp[dot]br.
